MY CURRENT LIFESTYLE

I am generally an active person, can’t stay still for too long. With my job, I’m always on the move. I am always on my feet and stuff. I’m not one to attend a gym on a regular basis but I do have fitness apps that teach me exercises to do at home. Whether it be a 30-45 minute cardio workout 2-4 times a week, taking long walks, or being sexually active, I consider myself fairly active.

When it comes to my “diet”, I love choosing from my many options of tea to enjoy with my meal preps. I am learning and experimenting with different healthy smoothies that is flavorful and works for me. Flattummyco Shakes is quick and easy, just the way I like it, all while still enjoying the things I love.

THE 4 WEEK PROGRAM

What I love about the Flat Tummy Shakes is that they are just like having one of my green smoothies, only they’re packed with a lot more good stuff. They’re quick and easy, and a much better option than loading up on carbs. Instead of grabbing a croissant in the morning, you can have a shake and still feel full. I noticed right away that I had more energy, less cravings, and I was feeling less bloated. The shakes have 20 grams of plant based protein, 22 vitamins and minerals and over 50 fruits and veggies – a definite “oh she glows” kind of drink.

Having tried other protein shakes in the past, I knew what to expect about the taste. I was given Vanilla and Strawberry flavor shakes, so with that I was able to add extras to the shake if I felt the shake was too bland. The key to really enjoying these shakes is to make sure that you really shake it! Make sure all of the powder is blended into your liquid of choice. You can use regular filtered water, almond milk, coconut milk – you decide. You can also whip it up in a blender and add fresh or frozen fruits for a better tasting shake. What I love is the proportional packets so I don’t have to get elbow deep scooping powder out of giant tubs, and the packets super portable! I just tuck one in my purse for later if I’m having a late morning and shake it up on the go. 

Personally, I enjoyed the drink by mixing it with almond milk and chugging it down – no time to waste! During the first few weeks of taking one shake a day, I would still snack between meals. In the last two weeks, there were no more urges to snack. The cravings became less and less and eventually diminished. Keep in mind that I cut out sugar and gluten, so I was already consuming a healthy, high protein diet otherwise known as a paleo or whole 30 diet. I immediately felt full afterwards and it really was just enough for me. You can replace up to two meals a day with the flat tummy shakes!

THE RESULTS

My expectations with any weight loss supplement is that bloating would decrease significantly – and that it did. Consider it to be water weight, if you will, but I was definitely lighter and able to ‘suck in’ my tummy and feel comfortable in my skin by the end of the four week program. The shakes made me want to keep up a healthy regime, by making the right meal choices and drinking plenty of water instead of snacking. Funny how the mind plays tricks on you like that, making you think that you are hungry when really, you are thirsty!

After taking the meal replacement shakes every day for four weeks, I have lost a total of 20 lbs, which is a lot for me! The combination of summertime, constantly going out with friends, eating fresh fruits and veggies and staying hydrated, all played a significant role. But the real winners here are the Flat Tummy Shakes. They got rid of my bloating and reduced my appetite, making me feel comfortable in a swimsuit. And it definitely helped me to get my mind off of food! It’s a much healthier alternative to skipping meals (don’t ever skip breakfast!) and you will get results, the healthy way.

Because I love a drugstore beauty product that really WORKS…

I know you’ve heard it a thousand times before; the key to long, strong, healthy hair is to deep condition consistently. However, how many of us can honestly say they have enough time in their day to make deep conditioning a habit? Even if 50% of you all do find the time, how long do you really deep condition for?

I decided to test out the new Garnier 1 minute smoothing hair mask to see if I could really get bomb ass hair in 1 minute, because who doesn’t want to get a necessary task done in one minute?

I’d Swipe Right: Garnier Fructis Smoothing Treat 1-Minute Hair Mask

What caught my attention: I love the idea of a one-minute anything, you know?  I actually love using a hair mask as my regular conditioner and, after talking to the brand reps, they sold me on the fact this drugstore mask is 98% natural and really does reduce frizz. Did I mention it’s also only $3???

What it claims to be: “The Garnier Smoothing Treat 1-Minute Hair Mask + Avocado Extract helps you get soft, smooth hair. In one minute, indulge your hair in a nourishing treat with 98% naturally derived ingredients…”

The Garnier 1 minute smoothing hair mask is marketed to give you manageable hair in, well you guessed it…1 minute. Now, I know, I know. No hair issue can be fixed in one minute and it doesn’t claim to fix all your hair issues; it claims to make your hair soft, shiny and silky without weighing your hair down. However, of course like any product, with consistent, long term use, the 1 minute hair mask can correct, a variety of hair issues, so many issues that the product comes in five different formulas:

  • Damage Repair – Papaya Extract
  • Smoothing – Avocado
  • Nourishing – Coconut
  • Color Vibrancy – Goji
  • Strengthening – Banana

Also the Garnier 1 minute mask gets extra brownie points for being fully vegan with no silicones or parabens, which is great for all hair types.

Stalked info: I decided to research the product a bit more, and apparently the product can be used two different ways, as a deep conditioner or a leave in.

I decided to try the Garnier hair mask as both. My next wash day, I tried the 1 minute hair mask as a deep conditioner and I let the product sit in my hair for a little over an hour. My naturally curly hair was softer, very shiny and way easier to comb through. That was nice, but it wasn’t anything that wowed me so, a I gave it a try as a leave in conditioner… and by far that was the best results for me since the hair stayed soft all day, smelled amazing, and was significantly shinier!

What I thought after our first “date”: The first thing I noticed when I opened the container was the smell; it smells sooooo good. In fact, I’ve recommended it to friends who said they just wanted a drugstore hair mask that actually works. You obviously can’t beat the $3 price tag but this product does not work like a $3 product typically does- it’s way better. My hair is left feeling super soft, hydrated and as frizz-free as she ever gonna get.

The thing is. it did worked well for me as a leave in conditioner, but nothing that would make me leave my current conditioner behind. Garnier website re-routes you to either Amazon or Walmart which means the price then varies between 2-8$ because we all know how Amazon pricing works.

If Walmart is available near you or if you’re willing to wait for Amazon to ship the product, I’d say yes try it out. Overall my hair was left significantly shinier and the price is pretty cheap. Also, I was able to use the conditioner 4 times before the small tube ran out.

This $6 Mascara Will Give You The Sexiest Lashes

One thing we love about mascara is that we get to buy a new one every few months – it’s the perfect opportunity to get our beauty fix and try a new formula! We discovered our latest mascara obsession thanks to a subscriber insanely long, fluttery lashes, who revealed that she swore by the Covergirl Super Sizer Mascara. She loves it so much that every time she travels back to the US, she stocks up on it. Naturally, we had to try it out, and we were not disappointed. Here’s everything you need to know about this amazing $6 mascara!

What it is: A volumizing mascara designed to give full, fanned out lashes.

The brush: Let’s be honest, a mascara wand is as important if not more important than the formula when it comes to mascara, and this wand is pretty unique, to say the least! The rubber wand is made with little bristles that go from short to long at the top of the wand, aka the opposite to most mascara wands, and it feels more like a comb than a brush. When you first pull the brush out of the tube, it almost looks like there are no bristles as they’re so coated with formula.

What we liked: We love how this made our lashes look long, fluttery but also intense, however, we will say it takes a little getting used to – we’re going to give you all our tips! The mascara added a lot of drama to our lashes and depending on the look we wanted to go for, we found that – with a bit of practice – we could achieve natural, fluffy-looking lashes, or more dramatic, defined lashes.

Another huge bonus is that we had absolutely no flaking or smudging throughout the day – and we wore this from 9am till 11pm! We also like the fanned out the effect this gives to our lashes, but you will need to wiggle the brush around and pull your lashes outward to get a super fanned effect.

Tips for using: When you first use this mascara, a lot of product comes off on your lashes – it’s not one of those you need to build up – so it’s really important that you twist the brush when you apply to comb the product through. It also means that you probably won’t need to dip the brush back in the tube between eyes, so what we like to do is apply to one eye and comb through, then do the next eye, then once there’s less product on the brush, comb through the lashes again. This gives us super full, defined lashes that look sexy and fluttery. For a more intense look you can build it up with a second coat, but do it while the lashes are still wet.

Who it’s good for: We recommend this for people with medium to long lashes who want to add volume and definition and a little curl. If you have short lashes, this will add length and volume but it’s not the most lengthening mascara we’ve tried.

Considering the Covergirl Super Sizer Mascara costs $6, it’s a no-brainer for us. We loved the look we could achieve and how well it wore throughout the day. If you’re more of a wack-it-on-and-go kinda gal, then this may not be for you because it does take a little time to perfect.
