Selena Gomez practically combined her two best-selling products and created a new liquid contour that will give you an instant-defined look.
Just a couple of weeks ago we saw how Selena Gomez’smakeup routine went viral thanks to the fact that she gets a daily snatched look that highlights her features enough to look more awake and defined but at the same time naturally enough for you to believe that she woke up like this.
Little did we know that a new release was coming to us that would change the whole game: Soft Pinch Liquid Contour. The result? A naturally sculpted appearance that is never pasty, irregular, or greasy.
The technology of its best-seller the Soft Pinch Liquid Blush so loved by everyone is the “twin brother” of this new liquid contour that will make it super easy to use and with which its pigment will highlight the best of your features.
Two things that Selena Gomez promises with this new liquid contour:
The buildable, streak-free formula blends evenly and perfectly and applies beautifully under and over makeup.
Packed with long-lasting pigments for all-day wear that won’t fade: one dot goes a long way.
The contour is available in seven neutral, cool-toned shades: Gentle, Mellow, Solace, Serene, Tranquil, Peaceful, and Sublime.
The best news? Sephora has restocked! Yes, Rare Beauty by Selena GomezSoft Pinch Liquid Contouris $3 dollars more expensive than Rare Beauty by Selena Gomez Soft Pinch Liquid Blush, but it is so worth it. Rare Beauty products tend to last without drying out.
Selena Gomez cracked the liquid-blush code with the Rare Beauty Soft Pinch Blush. In record time, the velvety, long-lasting formula went from if-you-know-you-know status to becoming so popular, you can’t scroll TikTok without seeing a Get Ready With Me of someone dotting the chubby doe-foot applicator on their cheeks and blending the pigment out to flushed perfection.

Now, the beloved blush is getting a sibling in the form of Soft Pinch Lip Oil ($20) in eight shades. Given the stellar reputation of its predecessor, the brand-new formula had a lot to live up to — and Gomez was well-equipped to ensure the launch ticked every box. In a recent email interview, the star says that she tried practically every lip balm, stain, oil, and gloss on the market before making her own, and found that none of them offered what she needed: both hydration and long-lasting color.
The Rare Beauty Soft Pinch Tinted Lip Oils are a gel-to-oil formula with a stain. They have a beveled sponge tip applicator and glide on the lips with a weightless balmy feel. Once applied the formula feels almost like it thickens into a gel finish. All eight shades are beautiful whether you are a bold lip lover or love a more natural lip look.

Here are my real thoughts on the newest launch from Selena Gomez’s Rare Beauty that I have a feeling will be all over your For You page any minute now.
A gel-to-oil lip color that hydrates lips, gives great color payoff, and shines like a gloss without being sticky.
Available in 8 shades

The Formula
Because lip oils are still relatively new to the scene, let’s talk formula in case you haven’t encountered one before. To start, there are of course moisturizing oils in the formula—particularly jojoba seed oil and antioxidant-rich sunflower oil. As a bonus, it’s vegan and cruelty-free, while also being free of parabens. Score.
The Feel
Lip oil is the perfect solution if you don’t like the sticky feeling that comes with gloss but still wants a lot of shine.
This lip oil is rather unique in the sense that when you first apply it, it is more of a soft jelly texture, but it does eventually melt into a texture that feels more like a traditional lip oil.
When the sheen wears off you’ll still have a healthy-looking, vivacious pout. And thanks to ingredients like jojoba seed and sunflower seed oil that provide a hydrating barrier and antioxidant protection, it’s not drying like actual lip stains.
The Look
There are currently eight shades to choose from and currently only was able to buy 7 out of the 8 when it launched March 29th on Sephora.
The Rare Beauty Lip Oils come in a range of gorgeous tones, including:
Serenity – a warm rose
Affection – a muted berry
Happy – a cool pink
Joy – a muted peach
Delight – a rose brown
Hope – a nude mauve
Wonder – a rose mauve
Honesty – a nude brown

This is much more pigmented than your standard lip oil. Most lip oils come with a light wash of sheer color, but with the Soft Pinch Tinted Lip Oils, you can expect more of an opaque look.
You get so much color from this oil that even when the shine factor wears off, there is still a pretty flush of color left behind—similar to a lip stain. If you have ever tried Rare Beauty’s famous Soft Pinch Liquid Blush you know that they take pigment seriously.
Don’t believe me? Take it from Selena herself. She explained on the Rare Beauty website, “One swipe and your lips look so full and smooth! I love how easily you can build up the color without it getting sticky.”
The Wear
The one downside of lip oils is they typically don’t last long, but I was pleasantly surprised to see I got a few hours of wear out of this one thanks to the lasting color and it was super easy to touch up even without a mirror handy, making it the perfect travel lip product. This new lip oil really couldn’t have found a spot in my handbag at a better time.
I just want to say the seven colors I have tried are beautiful but I do notice the colors darken on my lips. However lot of stains in general tend to darken or shift in color on me once they set and these look darker on me compared to what I’ve seen on anyone else.
The Verdict
I have to say, thanks to Selena we can end the great lip product debate once and for all. If you want the color and long wear of lipstick, the shine of a gloss, and the moisturizing element of lip oil, then you can find everything you are looking for in one convenient tube of Rare Beauty lip oil.
If you’re looking for a go-to lippie to wear all spring and summer long, add a tube (or two, or three, or four) to your Sephora cart ASAP because I predict this will be the it-product of the season and will sell out FAST every time.

It’s safe to say that finding your go-to, daily mascara is just as important as selecting your best non-comedogenic foundation or ride-or-die sunscreen for your face. It’s a very personal journey and one none of us beauty enthusiasts take lightly—especially when there’s so much choice.
Do you opt for waterproof, brown, lengthening, or super volumizing? And how can you tell which of the best mascaras will deliver lusciously long lashes, without that pesky mascara flaking all over your cheeks before you drop your hard-earned cash on them? All very important questions.

This is why I’ve done the leg work for you when it comes to the Rare Beauty Perfect Strokes mascara, wearing it on the daily, seven days a week. And much like with the Rare Beauty products, I have some thoughts…
Eye-wise, I keep it pretty minimal, just opting for mascara on a normal day—sometimes I pair it with an all-over eyeshadow, but I’m not an eyeliner gal, despite there being some great eyeliners for beginners out there. So, I rely on my mascara to make me look awake and somewhat put together, while still keeping it natural—so preferably, no clumps in sight
Now, onto the key info, is the Rare Mascara waterproof?
It’s described as having a ‘water-resistant formula,’ so theoretically it should be able to withstand getting caught in a surprise rain shower or a gentle cry sesh. Technically though, it’s not fully waterproof—but I prefer that as it’s easier to remove with a makeup remover or micellar water, without needing to be too vigorous.
HOW TO APPLY THE RARE BEAUTY MASCARA
To apply this mascara, I’d recommend curling your lashes first with your preferred eyelash curler, before then gently wiggling the mascara wand from side to side as you stroke up along your lashes, from root to tip. This side-to-side motion will feather out your lashes and will help to get an even coating on your lashes and avoid clumps.
WHAT’S IN THE RARE BEAUTY MASCARA?
This mascara is formulated with castor oil, which helps to condition and nourish your lashes—plus it’s vegan, cruelty-free, paraben-free, ophthalmologist-tested, dermatologist-tested, and suitable for anyone with sensitive eyes or contact lens wearers.
BEAUTYLEEBAR VERDICT ON THE RARE BEAUTY MASCARA
So, is this Rare Beauty mascara good? My answer is yes. It does everything it promises to do—it’s buildable, comfortable, volumizing, and lasts all day without smudging.
I’ve worn it every day, seven days a week, for over a month, and haven’t experienced any transferring or flaking. I’m also a big fan of its chunky tube, with its soft, matte pink finish. It feels expensive and looks soo cute in my makeup bag.
It’s also easy to apply, even with a slightly large wand, which I wouldn’t necessarily have gone for, but didn’t find it in any way messy or hard to handle. In fact, with every use, it leaves my lashes looking lengthened, voluminous, and curled up—and it lasts all day long, so everything you can ask of a mascara. The formula itself feels great on the lashes as well, not super stiff or brittle.
This Rare Beauty mascara fends off moisture well (from tears and even sweat from a gym sesh) but comes off like a dream with a bit of micellar water.
My main gripe with this product though is that it’s only available in black—if this came in a soft brown shade, it would be a real game-changer. There’s also the question of the price…
This mascara will set you back $20 which is pretty pricey for a mascara. That being said—like with all of Rare’s line-up—the amount of product you get for the money is generous since the tube is pretty chunky.

So, my final verdict: it’s great and if you’ve been hunting far and wide for a mascara that is both gentle on your eyes but still delivers length and volume, this could be one to try. I will say this though, other mascaras out there are comparable and more inexpensive on the market, but if you’re a Selena stan looking to make another (or your first) Rare Beauty purchase, I’d recommend it for the cute tube alone!
I’ll be honest, when I first heard about the launch of Rare Beauty, I was hesitant to jump on the hype train. When celebrity beauty brands are launching at the rate of approximately 14930 a year, it can be difficult to get excited for everyone.
Despite this, not long after its launch, recommendations for Rare Beauty products came flooding in from friends, colleagues, and across my Tiktok FYP. I tentatively started trying out a few products from the brand, starting with its viral Soft Pinch Liquid Blush and Liquid Eyeliner. If you’re already a fan of the brand, it probably won’t shock you to hear that it didn’t take long for Rare Beauty products to become my top-drawer makeup staples.

The thing is, it can be easy for a celebrity to just attach their name to a beauty brand without putting much thought into it. This isn’t the case with Rare Beauty, which feels very much like an extension of Selena Gomez’s authentic approach to beauty. The products have been thoughtfully curated in beautiful packaging, yes, but more than that, they look to enhance and celebrate our beauty, rather than masking it.
In the end, I found it pretty difficult to narrow it down to my six favorite products, but after quite a bit of deliberation, these are my top Rare Beauty makeup picks that I recommend trying from the brand.
A Tiktok fave, I can safely say this liquid blush is like no other that I’ve tried. The amount of pigment this blusher packs is astounding; when you apply it you only need the tiniest dot, which will seamlessly blend out into a natural, healthy flush.
Currently, you can get your hands on 11 shades with two different finishes, dewy and matte, so there’s something for everyone. The doe-foot applicator is a welcome addition too, as it allows you to be precise with your placement and avoid depositing too much product.
At $23, it might be a pricier blusher buy, but it is worth the investment.
I’m super picky when it comes to my lip-liners, but this has become one of the top three I have on rotation. It features a soft, almost gel-textured pencil which I find preferable, especially for perpetually dry lips. Although it has a matte finish, the formula glides on smoothly and doesn’t tug or skip, before drying down and staying put.
The color payoff is intense too, with a range of 10 nude shades that deliver immediate color. I’ll often just wear mine alone, but it also makes a reliable base for lipsticks and prevents them from bleeding beyond your lipline.
One of Rare Beauty’s newest launches, the Silky Touch Highlighter was another immediate hit on Tiktok. When it comes to highlighters I’m super picky (I was raised on Becca Champagne Pop after all), so one had to perform to make it into my good books.
To me, this is a very unique highlighter formulation. It’s a silky powder but the finish and luminosity of the highlighter would make you think it’s a liquid. Where I’ll normally have to use my finger with a powder highlighter to get the intensity I want, a light dusting of a powder brush in this powder delivers the most insane pigment.
The finish is a mix of wet-look with some very fine shimmer, which I think is more obvious in the lighter shades than the more golden hues. It’s a highlight that will get you compliments and might just momentarily blind passersby.
When it comes to foundations, lightweight formulations are non-negotiable for me. While this used to mean that I was limited to skin tints and BB creams, more high-coverage foundations with barely-there textures are now entering the arena.
This one from Rare Beauty has become one of my go-to’s if I’ve got an event or a night out where a little more coverage is wanted; I love the serum-like feel which blends seamlessly for a second-skin finish.
The weightless formula makes it a great option for both dry and oily skin types as it won’t settle in dry lines or clog pores. It’s also ideal for that office-to-evening touch-up thanks to the no-mess doe foot applicator, so that’s one less excuse for not making it to the office after work drinks.
Whether you’re an eyeliner pro or still trying to get to grips with a wing, this liquid liner is worth a try. Rather than a felt tip which the majority of liquid liner pens feature, this applicator is made up of 8000 super fine bristles for an ultra-precise brush tip that doesn’t feather or gets worn at the end.
I’ve tried probably hundreds of liquid eyeliners at this point and this one seriously impressed me. It doesn’t skip, drag, or require you to press down hard to release pigment; just give it a shake and get drawing. The matte finish is just that too; it doesn’t bleed or smudge throughout the day, so whether you’re battling against watery eyes or oily eyelids, these wings will stay sharp.
An under-eye brightener always seemed like an extra step I didn’t need, but this formula is truly brilliant. First off, it’s so hydrating.
Most eye-brightener products tend to be balmy or waxy, which only makes my skin even drier. This is deeply hydrating, while the metal applicator gives tired peepers a gentle cooling sensation to help wake them up.
My under eyes were disguised in a swipe and the formula didn’t seep into fine lines.
