This Is The Easiest Way To Get Glowing Skin

Who doesn’t want to get that glow? It’s basically the definition of having healthy skin. The thing is, it can be difficult to achieve with skincare alone, and it can be tricky to find the right balance between glowy, not shiny, with makeup. Highlighters are great, but if you want to look like you’ve just spent three weeks in the Maldives with an all-over-glow, you need to go further than the standard pressed highlighter on your cheekbones.

I recently came across the ultimate glow game-changer, and it’s really coming through for us. The L’Oréal  Shimmerista Highlighting Powder, $15, my new best friend. The formula comes in two blinding finishes: Moonlight and Sunlight. Moonlight is a stunning iridescent formula that’s great for fair to light complexions while Sunlight works beautifully for light to deep complexions.

But I’m not using this highlighter how the product page tells us to. Instead of using this like any other highlighter and applying it to the tops of our cheekbones and the high points of our face, I decided to do something different with this very finely milled shimmering powder!

By taking a tiny amount and combining it with a little loose setting powder in my setting powder lid, I’ve basically made the ultimate glow-giving setting powder. But seriously guys, this highlighting powder is so lit that a little goes a very long way, so the ratio should be two parts setting powder to one part Shimmerista highlighter! Dust your new formula across your face to set your foundation as you usually would, and be prepared for the glow-up! I’ve been doing this highlighter hack for weeks and have been getting compliments left, right and center!! It adds a subtle luminosity all-over, one that’s more popping than you’ll get with any ‘illuminating’ face powder but more subtle than using highlighter all over your face – so you won’t look shiny. It’s my new staple makeup must-have.

You don’t wear setting powder? Try mixing it in a tiny bit with your foundation and get instant glass-like skin. To up your glow game, you can add a little highlighter to your cheekbones – but honestly, just dip your brush into the excess powder that sits in the lid, because this really is so intense!

At $14.99, this is definitely on the more expensive side for a drugstore highlighter, but as it’s so powerful, you won’t be hitting pan on this for a very long time. Are you guys going to try this out? Let me know in the comments below.

How to Get Makeup Out of Clothes: 8 Genius Solutions

No dry cleaning required.

One truth universally acknowledged is that regardless of your level of hand-eye coordination, makeup spills and smudges are bound to happen. And when they do, you’re left wondering how to get makeup out of clothes, ideally without making the stain look worse. I got eight genius solutions for getting makeup stains out of your clothes fast and easy.

1. Use a Makeup Wipe

Makeup wipes don’t just work on your face–they can actually help get makeup off your clothes. It’s an old backstage trick you can occasionally spot at fashion shows when makeup artists realize they’ve smeared something on themselves while trying to protect the models’ clothes. It’s sneaky and it works. Just grab one and gently blot or rub until the offending makeup stain is lifted away.

A couple of things to remember: This is most effective on a fresh spill that hasn’t had time to dry or set. And you’ve got to spot-test anything that you aren’t sure is colorfast or that might water-spot like silk on an area that doesn’t show before going to town on it—you don’t want to ruin anything delicate. But on things like cotton? Makeup wipes are basically a Mr. Clean Magic Eraser for makeup on clothes.

2. Rubbing Alcohol

Soak a cotton ball or the tip of a washcloth in rubbing alcohol and then rub it over the makeup stain. Rubbing alcohol is particularly effective at removing lipstick stains, since alcohol can break down oily and waxy stains.

3. Shaving Cream

Who knew shaving cream can lift a stain? Apply a squirt or two the stain and let it sit for ten minutes. During that time, the cream will dissolve the stain. After ten minutes, wipe off the shaving cream with cold water.

4. A Blow Dryer

If you use any kind of loose powder on your face, you know how frustrating it can be if you spill it on your clothes (especially if it’s light powder on dark fabric). Any attempt to wipe it away is met with a smeared mess that’s even more noticeable than the original dots of powder were. So what do you? Grab a blow dryer. Blast the powder off the fabric and you’re good to go.

5. Hairspray

Who knew? Hairspray can actually help you get rid of a tricky lipstick stain. Apply hairspray to the stain and let it dry. Let the hairspray dry and follow up with a wet wipe. Note: this only works if the hairspray contains alcohol. Alcohol-free hairsprays will do nothing for a makeup stain.

6. Ice, Ice Baby

Applying ice cubes is another way to get makeup out of clothes. Grab a cube and rub it vigorously on stain. Ice (and cold water) works to lift a stain, while using hot water during a spot treatment can actually spread the stain. Avoid hot water at all costs when trying to spot treat a minor makeup stain. Save the hot water for when you toss in the washer.

7. Soap and Water

If all you have on hand is soap and water, you can still try to get a makeup stain out. Just don’t grab a paper towel or napkin. Instead, dab cold water on the stain and the teensiest spot of soap. Then, rub the fabric against itself and allow the friction to lift the stain. This is better than using a paper product, as it can flake off and leave the fabric smeared with little white bits, potentially make the stained area look even worse until you’re able to give it a proper washing.

8. Detergent Pens and Detergent Wipes

Designed for treating stains on the go, detergent pens like Tide to Go can provide a quick fix. For the best result, make sure to blot off any excess gunk off your fabric before taking applying the pen to it. When you press the tip into the clothing, the detergent solution will come out. Rub the tip of the detergent pen against the fabric until the stain starts to come off. Then, wipe off any extra solution. Detergent pens are reusable and safe to apply to most fabrics, including those labeled “dry clean only.”

Three Hacks to Hide Fine Lines With Makeup

Fine lines: a beauty guru’s worst enemy as we mature into our grown-up skin. These teeny tiny creases creep up on us at the worst possible makeup moments, making foundation look cracked and less-than-perfect, and we’d do just about anything to make them disappear for good. Of course, more power to you if you wear your fine lines with pride — but sometimes you just want your makeup to look flawless, and they get in the way. Don’t you think?

Rule 1: Always, Always Moisturize and Prep

Fine lines look so much more obvious when skin is dull and dehydrated — that’s why Thompson’s first rule of thumb is to always hydrate the skin. “Moisturizing very well before applying makeup always help diminish the look of fine lines,” she says. “In addition to that, opting for a primer that has a blurring or smoothing effect not only helps the appearance of pores but fine lines as well.” We love a hefty moisturizer like the Kiehl’s Ultra Facial Moisturizer for this step.

Rule 2: Blurring Sticks Are Your BFF

The Lancôme Blur and Go Priming Stick and Milani Instant Touch-Up Blur Stick are my absolute favorites when blurring out fine lines! It sits beautifully under makeup, and works well on top of moisturizer. A priming and smoothing stick will do wonders to make your fine lines less visible. It truly gives you the airbrushed look with little effort before applying foundation.

Rule 3: Set Before Makeup

My final golden rule is actually a bit counterintuitive: I suggest you set your face before you reach for that foundation. A little trick I like to do that works wonders for creasing is after applying your moisturizer and primer to the face, lightly set any area with powder before applying your cream or liquid foundation. This way, your face will be extra protected from creasing makeup: This really locks in what was underneath and prevents a barrier from your foundation seeping into those lines.

The Lucie + Pompette Lip Batters are a 3 in 1 balm, gloss, treatment retailing for $16. These little lip balms make a great gift or the perfect stocking stuffer for any beauty lover. It is available in 5 different colors: La-La, Go-Go, Bon-Bon, Mi-Mi, and Can-Can. The Lip Batters are the longest wearing plumping lip gloss with a revolutionary formula that plumps, fills and hydrates your lips instantly. You get a gloss like a product that acts as a treatment and plumps the lips without any type of irritation. The unique smoothing cushion envelops the lips for a more voluptuous appearance.

The lip batters are made of an anti-aging cocktail of Vitamin E, Green Tea, and white tea with a light vanilla scent inspired by fresh macarons. Lucie + Pompette products are Vegan, cruelty-free and paraben-free. Applying them is easy. You can apply the gloss liberally and allow 10 seconds for the lip batter’s smoothing cushion to set on the lips. Once applied, voluptuous lips can be enjoyed all day. The lip batter can be layered to create a more pronounced lip line as well.

Each lip batter has a flexible applicator which allows the product to hug each curve of the lips, providing a flawless, precise application. The glosses have a sheer tint of color which is infused with subtle, light-reflecting pigments to add to the illusion of fuller lips. There is a light delicate tingle that stimulates blood flow to the lips for a natural plumping effect. While this is a plumping type of gloss, it doesn’t burn or have an uncomfortable sensation as others on the market and since the tint of the gloss is sheer, you can wear it alone or over your favorite lipsticks or lip products. It feels comfortable on the lips though it does have a sticky like texture. The light tingling sensation can last up to 10 minutes but it never feels weird or burning, uncomfortable or unable to bare.

I have pretty full and plump lips already, but I did notice that my lips became plumper. Also, I like the fact that my lips seemed to look very smooth with a great glossy texture.

It’s french inspired and features a glossy white exterior printed with the signature illustrations from Lucie + Pompette and a lined interior. I love the details of this little clutch and the Eiffel Tower Charm is absolutely gorgeous. I absolutely love the art design and the drawing is so feminine and sweet. It would make a great gift for any beauty lover or that sweetie in your life. Totally Chic and those that love Paris… would love this!
