For adventurous beauty enthusiasts, bold graphic eyeliner and latte-inspired bronzer steal the spotlight, but most of us prefer a more evergreen approach with minimal makeup for daywear. Embracing your natural beauty is timeless, but achieving the flawless no-makeup look requires the right products and techniques – let us guide you through it all.
To achieve a filter-like finish in real life, it all comes down to the right choice of products. From the get-go, we recommend Fenty Beauty by Rihanna Eaze Drop Blurring Skin Tint which provides an effortless, natural finish. Note that you don’t have to apply this all over your face. You can choose to spot treat where necessary. For extra coverage under the eyes, Rare Beauty by Selena Gomez Positive Light Under Eye Brightener is an immaculate option for an organic finish. Step three of our go-to minimal makeup routine requires a brow gel to gently fluff up your brows. To wrap up the eyes, simply sweep on your favorite mascara for wispy lashes.
If you’re in a crunch for time, you can certainly stop here, but these next few products will give you that long-lasting glow. Add some flush to your cheeks with a sheer cream-based blush. You can further accent this with a touch ofhighlighter. As the penultimate step to this natural look, lock in your base with a featherlight powder. Laura Mercier’s setting powder is a cult favorite for a reason but ONE/SIZE by Patrick Starrr Ultimate Blurring Setting Powder has been the go-to for weeks now and hasn’t disappointed us. Lastly, seal the deal with a tinted oil or lip balm to enhance your lips.
This quick and easy minimal makeup routine is a great way to boost your confidence and celebrate your natural beauty.
When Mary Phillips shares makeup advice, we listen. The makeup artist works with stars like Kendall Jenner, Hailey Bieber, Kim Kardashian, Jennifer Lopez, Priyanka Chopra, Salma Hayek, Dua Lipa, and Hailee Steinfeld. Most recently, Phillips found herself in the limelight for underpainting, a viral contour technique that involves contouring and highlighting the face before putting foundation on.
Since then, Phillips has shared makeup tutorials and hacks on her Instagram and TikTok. Hermost recent tutorial involved “cherry cola lips,” which have gone viral on TikTok. Cherry cola lips involve lining your lips using a nude or burgundy lip liner before filling them in with cherry-red lip color and finishing with a gloss.
Inspired by the colors in a glass of cherry-flavored Coke, this lip trend plays with textures and colors for a fun and flirty look perfect for late summer. Keep reading for Phillips’ take on the trend.

Step 1: Line
Start by lining your lips with a nude pencil or pick a burgundy-leaning tone to pack a bit more punch. Phillips chose a tawny-colored neutral and over-lined her cupid’s bow.
TikTok never fails to introduce us to the latest niche style trends, and right now, the tomato girl aesthetic is taking our feeds! This captivating look has exuded carefree European vacation vibes, inviting us to bask in the relaxed ambiance of an Italian coastal getaway, sipping on an Aperol spritz without a worry in sight. Hashtags like #tomatogirl and #tomatogirlsummer have already amassed millions of views and counting, showing that this trend knows no boundaries and can be embraced by anyone, anywhere in the world.
What Is The ‘Tomato Girl’ Aesthetic?
The ‘Tomato Girl’ aesthetic is all about channeling the perfect Euro vacation with chic sartorial choices that feel effortless and exude carefree Mediterranean holiday vibes.
A ‘Tomato Girl’ wears reds, reminiscent of sun-ripened tomatoes from the local market and the color of the sun. White ruffle dresses, gingham patterns in baby blues, delicate florals or fruit prints, comfortable linen sets, triangle headscarves, and chic woven basket bags, are also common aesthetic choices.

So why tomatoes? Well, why not? “This aesthetic is inspired by a woman who is as bold and vibrant as the juicy tomato she holds in her hand. Whether we’re lounging on a beach or frolicking through a field, we can take a cue from the Tomato Girl and radiate confidence, vibrancy, and a zest for life.
Tomato Girls prioritize dips in the ocean over maintaining a blowout. Whether she’s heading to the local markets for fresh vine-ripened tomatoes or aperitivo hour for an Aperol spritz, the base makeup is light and is always Sunkissed and undone.
Want to hop on the tomato girl bandwagon? The easiest way is through your makeup! Let’s dive into the secrets of achieving this viral look and let the summer vibes flow.
Basically, ‘Tomato Girl Makeup’ is all about simplicity at its finest, very similar to the ‘clean girl makeup‘. Keep things simple with multitasking products that can be applied in seconds, with or without a mirror. A touch of concealer (only where needed), a lip and cheek stain for a pop of color, curled lashes, a bronzer plus a swipe of clear brow gel should do the trick.
This makeup was inspired by a summer in Italy basking in the sun or tending home grown vegetables in colorful floral dresses. Let me be the first to say that I’m all for ending the internet’s obsession with naming beauty and fashion trends after seemingly random foods (tomato girl? blueberry milk nails? SOS). However, if there’s one food-or-drink named trend that I can get behind, it’s latte makeup. Aside from being admittedly aptly named, the viral look is easy to recreate and is uber-flattering on all skin tones and eye colors.
The latte makeup trend is essentially exactly what it sounds like a sultry, bronzed makeup look created with different natural shades of brown. Warm coffee colors are highlighted through a creamy bronzer, a smudged brown eyeliner, and ajuicy but neutral-toned lip. For those of you with perpetually rosy cheeks, latte makeup is a win because it eliminates bright pink or red blushes and instead focuses on more bronze, neutral tones. The term was coined on TikTok by beauty guru Rachel Rigler, but the look itself originated from Australian makeup artist Tanielle Jai (who, for those invested, has stated that she is totally behind the “latte” name).
Say hello to “latte makeup.” And just like the countless coffee orders that range from every single shade of espresso and beige — the trend, too, is all about using natural shades of browns and bronzes to create a truly sun-lit glam.
Why underpainting, you ask? Well, the method creates a softly contoured look underneath your favorite products. And to get the best results, you typically should be reaching for lightweight complexion products, like glowing skin tints with a more sheer, buildable finish.
As for the inspo pic that the latte glam is based on? Well, Australian-based Tanielle Jai is the makeup artist behind the look (which dates back to around 2018). In a recent Instagram post, she notes: “They call this the “latte makeup” but it’s just bronzed makeup using caramel tones.”
Of course, if you’re watching The Idol, you may see a similar sultry look on Lily-Rose Depp, throughout summer, this toasty, sun-kissed glam has been everywhere.

With over 28M views and counting, it’s time to sip on this café au lait trend. Don’t worry, we’ve got you covered with an easy breakdown on how to achieve the latte girl makeup look.
The base of the latte makeup look includes a sheer-coverage foundation or skin tint, cream bronzer, concealer, and a powder bronzer to seal it all in. To achieve a natural, sun-kissed effect, Rigler recommends putting your foundation or skin tint everywhere except your nose to let your natural freckles come through; you can also use a freckle pen to create freckles after finishing the base. Add a healthy amount of cream bronzer or contour to your cheeks, a little bit of concealer wherever you need it, and blend well. Finish with a powder bronzer, and you have a latte makeup base.
After watching dozens of latte makeup tutorials, I can confidently say that there is no “wrong” way to achieve a latte eye. For an everyday recreation of the look, you can blend your powder bronzer into your crease, add a bit of smudged brown eyeliner to your lash line, and call it a day. If you want to make your latte makeup look to be a bit more glam, use a darker brown eyeshadow in your crease, add a smudged brown eyeliner to both your lash line and water line, and pop a bit of gold eyeshadow on your inner corner for a sexier iteration. Regardless of how you opt to create your latte eye look, minimal mascara is key for allowing the brown tones to shine.
To finish your latte look, a neutral lip is the way to go. Grab your favorite nude, caramel-toned, or brown lip liner, and finish with a gloss that contributes to the melted effect of the makeup. In her original latte makeup tutorial, Rigler takes the excess bronzer and foundation left over on her beauty blender and pats it over her lips before applying liner for an even more neutral look.
How to recreate “latte” makeup on different undertones
If your initial reaction to latte-inspired makeup looks is “No way, that’s not for me,” think again. Many of the original pictures and videos of the viral trend are used on people with bronzed, olive complexions, but the look is just as flattering on fairer and deeper skin tones alike. (That’s right, fair-skinned gals—you don’t need to self-tan to high heaven to achieve the look).

Jai has released several follow-up videos explaining how to recreate latte makeup on different undertones. People with cool undertones should lean into ashy, taupe-y browns, while those with warm undertones should seek out browns with a pinker undertone. Prioritizing shades of brown that will compliment your skin tone—rather than wash it out—is the key to making latte makeup work for you.
