The ‘Dream Cloud Blender’ is a latex-free blender that is carefully sculpted to fit the contours of your face. The domed point gets into the creases around your eyes and nose while the rounded bottom can be used to softly blend out your concealer.

Grande chose the cloud-like foam texture because it was just right: not too soft and not too dense. The sponge is infused with antioxidant-rich Ashwagandha for an extra boost. A bonus is the blender works wet or dry, with liquid or powder products.

‘Lunar Magic Blurring Primer

The ‘Lunar Magic Blurring Primer’ is a long-wearing primer formulated with hydra-blur essence, which was previously found in the ‘Full Nights Sleep Cooling Under-eye Balm’ to cool, even, and hydrate your complexion. The primer also includes soothing micro-algae, anti-pollution ectoine, and brightening vitamin C-rich Jeju lemon. These ingredients will blur, smooth, and improve makeup wear for up to eight hours.

sweet how-to

01 finding your shade for all-over concealing: choose a shade closest to your skin tone. identify your shade level (fair-rich) & undertone. shades progress in-depth as you go from 1-10 within your shade level.

02 for spot concealing: use a concealer the same shade as your foundation. to conceal a pesky blemish, dab some concealer on top and wait 2 minutes before blending it out.

03 for brightening: choose a shade at least 1-2 shades lighter than your skin tone or use fair 1 for the ultimate, bright white highlight.

04 for correcting: choose a color correcting shade within the lineup. a pink-toned concealer helps conceal blue and purple tones in lighter skin and covers up dark spots and dark circles under the eyes. an orange-red concealer helps cancel out dark areas on darker-toned skin. a yellow concealer neutralizes redness around the mouth and the nose and brightens the undereye area. top with a skin tone shade to even out complexion.

05 for contouring: choose a shade at least 2-3 shades deeper than your skin tone.

06 to lighten a shade: mix in our true white: fair 1

07 to use rich 10, the blue-black shade: use to deepen the tan to rich shades and make them cooler, correct what you need, and contour the richest skin tones. a little goes a long way, so use sparingly and add as needed.

And because, being in the industry, Ariana has all of the tricks of the trade, the r.e.m. beauty fact sheet also shares all the “sweet tips” you’d want to know to find the best concealer shades for all-over, brightening, contouring or correcting, as well as a few pointers for raising your makeup game.

PRIMP TIPS FROM ARI

  1. After filling in your brows, apply a small amount of concealer underneath the brow to create a well-defined arch line.
  2. Use to sharpen your winged liner. With a small brush, clean up the bottom of your wing liner with long strokes.
  3. A tiny bit of light concealer in your eye’s inner corner appears more awake.
  4. Clean up your lip lines and take a bit of concealer in the same shade as your foundation on a lip brush. Carefully outline your lips to create sharp lines.

New beauty products are constantly launching and keeping up with all of them can get overwhelming. Some products withstand the test of time and have become “cult favorites” in the beauty world. These products may be new to you, or we are reintroducing you to a product you’ve loved in the past.

We are here to share 6 vintage beauty products that have continuously stayed many beauty lovers’ holy grails for decades!

BENEFIT BENTINT CHEEK & LIP STAIN

The Benefit Benetint was launched in 1976; the initial use of the product, shockingly enough, was nipple dye for exotic dancers. Today, the product is used for lips and cheeks to achieve a rose tint that is natural and long-lasting. The tint retails for $30 and is available at Sephora, Ulta, and on the Benefit Cosmetics website.

CETAPHIL SKIN CLEANSER

The Cetaphil Skin Cleanser was released in 1947 by a pharmacist; the product was first only available in select pharmacies. Today, it is widely recommended by dermatologists and healthcare professionals for people with sensitive, eczema-prone, and rosacea-prone skin. The product retails for $7.99 and is available at WalmartTarget, and Amazon

MAYBELLINE GREAT LASH MASCARA

The Maybelline Great Lash Mascara is a cult classic in the makeup community, not only due to the formula but the iconic pink and green packaging. Maybelline was one of the first mascara producers in the world; this can attest to their array of great mascara in their range. The mascara was released in 1971, and the heart-shaped wand reaches each lash, leaving a voluminous and lengthening effect. The product retails for $7.99 and is available at Ulta and on the Maybelline website.

COTTY AIRSPUN LOOSE FACE POWDER

The Coty Airspun Loose Face Powder is a cult classic in the Drag Queen Community; it is a long-lasting setting powder that mattifies the skin. The product was released in 1935 and still has the same packaging. The vintage feel is portrayed through the scent, it is very reminiscent of a grandmother’s beauty vanity. The loose powder retails for $5.72 at Walmart

YSL BEAUTY TOUCHE ECLAT

The YSL Beauty Touche Eclat is a highlighting concealer pen that instantly brightens, smooths, and perfects your complexion with a natural, luminous finish. The product was launched in 1991 for the same purpose it is used today—the love for a bright under-eye. The product is available in 12 shades and retails for $38. The highlighting pen is available at Sephora and on YSL’s website.

REVLON SUPER LUSTORIOUS LIPSTICK

The Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick, specifically in shade ‘Cherries in the Snow’ launched in 1953. The lipstick has a high-impact color payoff and a super-moisturizing formula. The microfine pigments leave the lipstick shade rich, vibrant, and lightweight. The product retails for $9.49 on the Ulta website.

These 6 vintage beauty products have stood the test of time. Each product has shown a great formula is all that’s needed to keep a product in your makeup bag.

Achieve The “Sunburnt Look” From TikTok With These Five Blushes

As June has arrived and beach days abound, TikTok’s new favorite trend conveys effortless romance perfect for the season. This season’s makeup is still natural (don’t want it melting off!) à la “clean girl makeup” but with a new twist: a rosy glow across your cheeks and nose.

Advertisements

This glow says you’ve spent all day in the sun. This glow says your only care in the world is how the waves are today or laying out in your backyard with a paperback greased from sunscreen. This glow says to put on the frothiest, lightest dress you own – ideally over a swimsuit – and end up at a barbecue under string lights. It’s the whole summer aesthetic.

The best part? To achieve this look, you don’t have to risk sun damage. (Be sure to cover up with our go-to sunscreens before heading outdoors). Apply a healthy amount of blush to your face, extending past your cheeks to your nose and forehead, and voila!

Advertisements

With liquid, powder, and cream blushes ranging from matte to glossy — and with color-matching better than ever — these makeup options will give you your *perfect* sun-kissed pink no matter the skin tone.

The On-The-Go Blush.

Cheekslime by Freck Beauty, $22.

The Hook: Freck Beauty has a chokehold over its Gen Z audience, who first discovered the brand thanks to its faux-freckle pencil. Freck’s branding and packaging look good on any countertop, with products that are playful and effective.

The Look: Whether you shudder at the name or embrace its tongue-in-cheek irreverence, Cheekslime is a highly pigmented, universally complimentary wash of color you can use on both your lips and cheeks.

The Lowdown: Cheekslime utilizes liquid plant collagen in its formula, which allows it to “melt” into your skin with an elegant, subdued effect. It’s a great multi-use item, flattering across features.

The Made-For-Everyone Blush.

GLASSY Blush from EspressOh, $26

The Hook: EspressOh’s named for its caffeinated makeup products and strong Italian roots. Just like espresso, the brand’s products are quick, powerful, and essential.

The Look: Matching blushes can be tough. The GLASSY blush removes the guesswork, so you don’t have to overthink what shade you’re putting on your skin. When you dab this on, it’ll be translucent. As you blend it, the reactant formula will mesh with your skin’s pH, informing its pigment. Although it looks different on each person, espressoH is constantly selling out because it’s guaranteed to align with your natural blush.

The Lowdown: Better yet, the dose contains caffeine, ensuring your skin looks energized and hydrated throughout the day (which gets to the heart of the summer glow we’re chasing with this look).

The Blush That Gives Back.

Soft Pinch Liquid Blush from Rare Beauty, $20.

The Hook: Selena Gomez’s Rare Beauty line puts its money where its mouth is; through its Rare Impact Fund, it donates one percent of sales to mental health organizations, with a commitment of raising $100 million for the cause over the next ten years. This vegan, cruelty-free brand aims to be a welcoming space in an industry with often unattainable standards.

The Look: This intensely pigmented liquid blush is available in matte and dewy finishes, layering well over other makeup products. Rare Beauty offers a quick primp tip: if you apply it under your foundation, you’ll get an ultra-natural underlying glow.

The Lowdown: Since its launch in early 2021, Rare Beauty has consistently gone viral on TikTok with both entry-level makeup users and expert artists. It truly meets people where they are. Between the intense pigment, velvety texture, and feel-good goals, both this blush and this brand are worth supporting. (On that note, shop now: shades sell out fast.)

The Dewy Blush.

Dew Blush from Saie, $24.

The Hook: Saie emphasizes beauty as skincare first. Its no-fuss formula keeps it aligned with the minimalist makeup lover. Blush or a sunburn? The world will never know.

The Look: Some of us are admittedly not a fan of the dewy look, but Saie’s changed our mind. The glow from this water-based gel looks refreshed rather than sweaty, with a texture and subtle flush of color that makes you look like you’ve spent the afternoon playing in the ocean or perhaps on a hike. Mermaid vibes, anyone?

The Lowdown: Saie’s simple, chic branding is appealing and accessible. The blush itself is runny, like ink, but easy to use and build upon. While it adds a bit of shine to the skin, it never veers into greasy, which is the main concern with glossy finishes. Overall, it’s an impressive addition to any blush repertoire.

The Easiest Blush.

The Balmie Crayon from Axiology, $14

The Hook: This Latina-founded brand embraces multiuse and sustainability with the first vegan zero-waste crayon. These Balmies can be applied to cheeks, lips, and eyes. Some of us rarely switch up our makeup, so we appreciate the utility – and love that it’s plastic-free. The crayons themselves are tiny, but that’s because they’re not beefed up with extra packaging; you’re still getting an appropriate amount of product for the price.

The Look: The blush effect from this product is soft and lovely. Crème blushes tend to have an organic-looking finish. As someone who often messes up highly pigmented blush, we appreciate that if we overdo it, the product will look like we fell asleep in a beach chair.

The Lowdown: The crème Balmie blush is an excellent starter. If the sunburnt blush trend ends up not being for you, it’s an easy switch to use it instead as a lip color. It’s also long wearing and buildable, so you don’t have to think twice about getting it right.
