Beauty trends have shifted significantly in recent years, with a clear focus on lips. While bold eye makeup and statement blush once took the spotlight, lip definition has become the main attraction. This year, the resurgence of contoured lips has led to a trend of sculpted, fuller pouts, making lip liner an essential product. With a plethora of new liners and techniques emerging, this trend is not just a passing phase; it represents a transformative approach to enhancing your lips. To help you achieve the perfect look, we have put together a step-by-step guide on mastering lip sculpting.
A proper lip sculpting routine can give you the look of natural filler with no injection required. The key? Strategic definition and the right products. First, hydrate your lips with a sheer balm, allowing it to fully absorb before moving on. We recommend applying balm at the start of your makeup routine so that by the time you’re ready for lips, they’re prepped and smooth.
Now, the real magic happens with lip liner. The right formula should glide on effortlessly and be ultra-long lasting. For a natural, everyday effect, opt for a neutral shade close to your lip color. But if you want maximum impact, a deep brown liner is the way to go. Start by slightly overlining the upper lip from one corner to the other, repeating the same technique on the bottom. For extra definition, deepen the outer corners and cupid’s bow. Finish with a high-shine gloss. Bonus points if it has a tint and a plumping effect.
This effective lip sculpting technique ensures you’ll achieve a perfect pout.
The ombré lips trend, a standout on the SS24 runways and a staple on red carpets, continues to make waves as we step into the new year. Whether complementing a subtle “no makeup, makeup look” or enhancing a full face of glam, this striking lip style is about making a lasting impression. While you can achieve ombré lips with an array of shades, there’s an undeniable timelessness to choosing red as the ultimate pop of color. To ensure your ombré lips stay flawless throughout the night, we’re divulging the step-by-step process and the essential products needed to effortlessly recreate this trend at home.

Before delving into any color application, start with a primer that hydrates and smoothes the lips. It will prevent flaking and ensure the makeup lasts much longer than if you were to skip this essential step. To achieve the perfect red pout, meticulously line your lips with a dark, pigmented shade like Very BerryHUDA BEAUTY Lip Contour 2.0 Automatic Matte Lip Pencil or Code Word – soft matte berry ONE/SIZE by Patrick StarrrLip Snatcher Waterproof Precision Lip Liner. While slightly overlining the cupid’s bow can enhance the plumpness of your pout, stick to the natural shape for the rest. Use the same lip liner to gently fill in both corners of the mouth, then employ a lip brush to subtly blur the line and blend out the color.
Now, for the ultimate blast from the past, Millennials can recall when concealer lips were all the rage. Apply the slightest dab of concealer to the middle of your lips and blend out with a clean finger. This technique lightens the innermost part of your mouth, creating a starker contrast. Revisit the same lip liner to touch up any spots that need refinement. Finally, elevate the entire look by topping it off with a clear lip gloss. And just like that, you have mastered the ombré lips trend!
In the fall, glossy lipsare everything. As the weather changes and winter approaches, the drop in temperatures causes our lips to dry out and split. That’s why glossesor any type ofhydrated lipsare perfect for this season. Through a comment on TikTok, Rosalía shared with a fan the exact 4 products she uses to achieve her look, so we can’t wait to go buy them and appropriate her lip combo.
The 4 Products You Need to Recreate Rosalía’s Viral Lip Combo
1. NYX Suede Matte “Cold Brew”
A creamy lip liner such as NYX Suede Matte Velvet Vegan Lip Liner helps provide a perfect base for your top lipsticks. PRIMP TIP: Professional make-up artists recommend using the pencil to define the entire lip shape for more volume, and once outlined, apply the lip liner to the inside of the lip for a more even and long-lasting effect. Also, it is always a good idea to have well-exfoliated and moisturized lips.
2. Byredo’s “Earth Dust” Lipstick
Byredo’s “Earth Dust” lipstick is a pale nude with a yellow undertone and a satin finish to reflect light and amplify color. Its vegan formula is packed with nourishing ingredients to keep your lips hydrated. Apply the lipstick in the center of your lips. If you can’t get it, use MAC Cosmetics “Creme In Your Coffee” lipstick instead.
3. Benetint – Benefit
Benetint is an original rose petal liquid blush for your cheeks and lips. Created in the 1970s by an exotic dancer, Benetint, the benefit blush, quickly became a cult product. Now that a clean look and no make-up make-up are beauty trends, lip, and cheek tints are becoming great allies in the make-up routine, and with this product, you will achieve a natural finish and the much coveted “bitten mouth” effect.
A dab of Liquid Lip Blush & Cheek Tint will make your lips look much redder. Remember that it is a product with a lot of pigmentation, so add a few tiny drops and blend very well.
4. Clear Butter Gloss
As Rosalía said, the finishing touch to the look is a layer of your favorite sheer gloss. Don’t choose any with color so that you don’t alter the original shades. We recommend NYX Butter Gloss as it’s not sticky, will last you for hours, and is not expensive.
Want another option?
Dior Addict Lip Glow Oil is a shimmering oil that protects, beautifies, and enhances the natural color of the lips. This lip oil combines an intense treatment formula with a natural, flattering color finish for an ultra-luminous result. Dior Addict Lip Glow Oil adapts to all lip colors to reveal its rosy glow. Its non-greasy, non-sticky oil texture forms a smoothing film that envelops the lips with a mirror effect.
And that’s it! Now you have everything you need to copy Rosalía’s viral lip combo.
PS: If you combine it with the Latte Makeup trend, you will have the best beauty look of the fall.
Selena Gomez cracked the liquid-blush code with the Rare Beauty Soft Pinch Blush. In record time, the velvety, long-lasting formula went from if-you-know-you-know status to becoming so popular, you can’t scroll TikTok without seeing a Get Ready With Me of someone dotting the chubby doe-foot applicator on their cheeks and blending the pigment out to flushed perfection.

Now, the beloved blush is getting a sibling in the form of Soft Pinch Lip Oil ($20) in eight shades. Given the stellar reputation of its predecessor, the brand-new formula had a lot to live up to — and Gomez was well-equipped to ensure the launch ticked every box. In a recent email interview, the star says that she tried practically every lip balm, stain, oil, and gloss on the market before making her own, and found that none of them offered what she needed: both hydration and long-lasting color.
The Rare Beauty Soft Pinch Tinted Lip Oils are a gel-to-oil formula with a stain. They have a beveled sponge tip applicator and glide on the lips with a weightless balmy feel. Once applied the formula feels almost like it thickens into a gel finish. All eight shades are beautiful whether you are a bold lip lover or love a more natural lip look.

Here are my real thoughts on the newest launch from Selena Gomez’s Rare Beauty that I have a feeling will be all over your For You page any minute now.
A gel-to-oil lip color that hydrates lips, gives great color payoff, and shines like a gloss without being sticky.

The Formula
Because lip oils are still relatively new to the scene, let’s talk formula in case you haven’t encountered one before. To start, there are of course moisturizing oils in the formula—particularly jojoba seed oil and antioxidant-rich sunflower oil. As a bonus, it’s vegan and cruelty-free, while also being free of parabens. Score.
The Feel
Lip oil is the perfect solution if you don’t like the sticky feeling that comes with gloss but still wants a lot of shine.
This lip oil is rather unique in the sense that when you first apply it, it is more of a soft jelly texture, but it does eventually melt into a texture that feels more like a traditional lip oil.
When the sheen wears off you’ll still have a healthy-looking, vivacious pout. And thanks to ingredients like jojoba seed and sunflower seed oil that provide a hydrating barrier and antioxidant protection, it’s not drying like actual lip stains.
The Look
There are currently eight shades to choose from and currently only was able to buy 7 out of the 8 when it launched March 29th on Sephora.
The Rare Beauty Lip Oils come in a range of gorgeous tones, including:
Serenity – a warm rose
Affection – a muted berry
Happy – a cool pink
Joy – a muted peach
Delight – a rose brown
Hope – a nude mauve
Wonder – a rose mauve
Honesty – a nude brown

This is much more pigmented than your standard lip oil. Most lip oils come with a light wash of sheer color, but with the Soft Pinch Tinted Lip Oils, you can expect more of an opaque look.
You get so much color from this oil that even when the shine factor wears off, there is still a pretty flush of color left behind—similar to a lip stain. If you have ever tried Rare Beauty’s famous Soft Pinch Liquid Blush you know that they take pigment seriously.
Don’t believe me? Take it from Selena herself. She explained on the Rare Beauty website, “One swipe and your lips look so full and smooth! I love how easily you can build up the color without it getting sticky.”
The Wear
The one downside of lip oils is they typically don’t last long, but I was pleasantly surprised to see I got a few hours of wear out of this one thanks to the lasting color and it was super easy to touch up even without a mirror handy, making it the perfect travel lip product. This new lip oil really couldn’t have found a spot in my handbag at a better time.
I just want to say the seven colors I have tried are beautiful but I do notice the colors darken on my lips. However lot of stains in general tend to darken or shift in color on me once they set and these look darker on me compared to what I’ve seen on anyone else.
The Verdict
I have to say, thanks to Selena we can end the great lip product debate once and for all. If you want the color and long wear of lipstick, the shine of a gloss, and the moisturizing element of lip oil, then you can find everything you are looking for in one convenient tube of Rare Beauty lip oil.
If you’re looking for a go-to lippie to wear all spring and summer long, add a tube (or two, or three, or four) to your Sephora cart ASAP because I predict this will be the it-product of the season and will sell out FAST every time.
