Concealer lips were a statement in the 2000s, and we thought we had left them behind forever, but Sofia Richie put them back on the map.
The good news is that they are not the almost white and dimensionless lips of your adolescence, but a technique with which we can make them look voluminous and very sophisticated. Here’s how to achieve the look.

What do concealer lips look like?
On TikTok, many memes remind us of what concealer lips were like 20 years ago: they consisted of putting concealer instead of lipstick, which resulted in cakey lips, without dimensions that now look zero cool. However, if you learn how to use your concealer on your lips, they can look less like a meme and more like the iconic Sofia Richie.
What this trend seeks in 2023 is to give prominence to the mouth, creating an effect with the tone of your concealer in strategic areas that make your lips look fuller.

1. Preparation
We recommend starting with well-moisturized lips. Apply a lip balm orlip oil for softer and free-of-dry lips.
2. Line the lips
Lip liner is optional, but it can help give lips a more defined and voluminous look. Use a lipstick in a nude shade or one that is slightly darker than your natural lip color. Line the contour of your lips, following their natural shape.
Try not to make your liner so strong as the goal is to make it look as natural as possible. We recommend Patrick Ta’sMonochrome Moment Precision Lip Crayon as it’s super easy to blend and lasts a long time.
3. Apply nude lipstick
Choose a nude lipstick as close to your natural lip color as possible. Apply the lipstick to the center of your lips and gently blend it outwards with small touches.
4. Apply concealer
Finally, apply a light layer of concealer to the center of your lips and blend with your fingers, both top and bottom, to give it an ombré effect and make it look like you’ve just put on fillers.
By now you probably know what balletcore is or have an idea. It’s as if the elegance of ballet is combined with your day-to-day outfit. Think soft tulle skirts and delicate colors that make you feel like you are dancing all day. But it doesn’t just stay in clothes, the balletcore vibe also goes into the beauty look, and Hailey Bieber shows us how in her TikTok tutorial.
It’s all about showcasing delicacy and grace with soft, subtle hues, such as soft pinks and hints of subtle sparkle. Think about highlighting your cheekbones with a light, natural blush, and highlighting your eyes with soft, blended shadows. The focus is on bringing a natural beauty with a touch of ballet charm.
She starts brushing her hair with her Koh-I-Noor comb, divides her hair in the middle (you can modify it according to your taste), and while she fixes her hair, she puts on organic castor oil from Pura D’or; It comes with mascara sticks for easy and convenient application anywhere, it even has a soothing earthy scent.
She ties her hair with a pink rubber band (this is important because it will give that ballet core vibe) and runs the comb through again to make her signature look. Make a bun and spray PaulMitchell to have everything in its place. Of course, like any ballerina girl, she wears a pink ribbon, simulating a bun. You can add some earrings, either minis like classic pearls or something like her, more chic.
Prep skin
Now, it’s time to prepare the skin with your Rhode brand. She started with her Glazing Milk for a smooth, shiny base. She then applies a light layer of Peptide Glazing Fluid, which hydrates and gives that extra glow, sealing everything in place. After that, Miss Hailey applies the barrier restore creamfor more hydration while ensuring the skin base is smoother and softer under makeup or by itself.
Sephora is the mecca of all thing’s beauty. For most of us, the first makeup product we ever bought for ourselves came from Sephora (and likely a holiday gift card). It holds a special place in our hearts, whether you live and breathe beauty or pop in once a year to restock on your faves. So, when Sephora has a sale, our Slack channel blows up. We’re constantly talking favorites for different skin types, hair textures, and makeup styles, but all hell breaks loose when we can get those same gems at a lower price.

In honor of Sephora’s Savings Event, we gathered every single one of our favorite products, all in one place. The sale kicks off on October 27 when all Beauty Insiders get 30% off the Sephora Collection. On the same day, Rouge members get 20% off, and, following that, VIBs get 15% off starting October 31, and all Beauty Insiders can shop with 10% off from October 31 to November 6 using the code TIMETOSAVE—bothin-store and online.
We don’t know who needs to hear this, but it’s time to restock your makeup sponges and brushes. Our skin immediately starts to get clogged and weird when we use a makeup sponge a little bit too long, so we always love to keep a few extra kicking around in our bathroom drawer just in case. Since Sephora collection items are 30% off, we’ll be grabbing several of these sponges to stock up on.
Once we started using this eye cream, we knew we would never be able to live without it, and at such an affordable price during the sale, it felt like Sephora was practically giving this product away. We’ve used eye creams ranging from high-end to drugstore, and this is the only one we have ever finished—twice. It does the job it says it will do (reduces dark circles, puffiness, and signs of aging), and it’s fragrance-free, and for those two reasons alone, we’ll keep repurchasing it.
If you’re looking to start double cleansing, we highly recommend beginning with this cleansing balm from the Inkey List. We use it at the end of every day to remove all makeup and SPF from our skin to start our evening skincare routine anew. As sensitive-skin girlies, we especially love this balm because it doesn’t cause breakouts or burn our eyes as other makeup removers do. The price point is already a no-brainer for us, so when they’re on sale, we like to snag an extra to look out for our future selves.
If there’s one thing about some of us, it’s that we are a mascara fiend. We love trying new ones, and we have very high expectations for the ones we use. This is, by far, the best mascara we’ve ever tried in our life, so much so that it’s stopped our hunt for a new mascara. It does exactly what it claims to in that it fans out the lashes, makes them super voluminous, and helps them to hold a curl all day long. We are restocking so we never have to go a day without it once our current one runs out.
We feel confident in the declaration that this is the best concealer of all time. It’s extremely hydrating and brightening and blends seamlessly into the skin. It never looks cakey and is the perfect combination of thick enough to cover any imperfection, while still feeling light and creamy. This has been our go-to concealer for years now, and we are restocking in bulk.
We used to believe every mascara was essentially the same—until we tried this one from Rare Beauty. Never in our lives have we had such long, perfectly curled lashes as we do with this product. We typically buy essentials like mascara and eyebrow gel twice a year during Sephora’s sales, which is perfect timing for when you should repurchase them anyway. True to form, our current tube is on its last leg, so you best believe we’ll be hitting “add to cart” as soon as the sale starts.
We bought this setting spray on a whim after the one we usually use was out of stock. Coincidentally, right after we made my purchase, it was revealed that this was the exact setting spray Beyoncé wore while performing for three hours straight during her Renaissance tour. If it works for Beyoncé on stage, let’s just say it works astoundingly well for keeping makeup on day-to-day.
We first tried this brow gel from Glossier in College, and it’s worked so well for us that it has been our go-to since. We love the light hold that this gel has—it visibly makes our brows look thicker, but still natural enough to wear on makeup-free days. This is a definite restock for us every Sephora sale.
We always have a stockpile of these Extra Strength Peel Pads from Dr. Dennis Gross, and now that they’re on sale, you already know we are adding the 60-treatment pack to the cart. These are our saving grace when it comes to skincare. They keep fine lines at bay and give the glow of our dreams.
We are big on double cleansing, especially on days when we have lots of makeup to remove, and we swear by this cleansing balm from Farmacy as our oil cleanser of choice. It’s the only cleansing balm that doesn’t leave us with breakouts, and being out of it for the last few weeks has honestly wreaked havoc on our skin.
There are a ton of lash serums on the market, and we’ve tried a fair few, but none of them work as well as this one from GrandeLASH. We don’t use it all the time, but whenever we feel like our eyelashes could use a little help in the length department, this is the product we turn to. It makes our lashes grow like crazy, and as someone who used to get lash extensions, we prefer the results we get from this product.
We have heard amazing things about this Dae hair gel, and we love that it can double as a styling cream for our curls on the days when we are not attempting to hide our dirty hair. This has been on our Wishlist for eons, so it is time for us to add it to our cart once and for all.
This hair oil has been in our cart for an embarrassing number of months, so during the sale, we are finally getting our hands on it. After telling friends that we are in our hair healing era, they immediately recommended this oil, claiming that it is the best they have ever used. We are excited to see what this simple formula can do for our dry ends.
Every so often we pick up a fragrance sampler during the Sephora Sale so that by the time the next sale comes around, we know which full-size scent we want to invest in. Lately, we have been wanting to snag one of Phlur’s iconic scents, but we cannot seem to make up our minds on which one we want. This Discovery Sample set comes with eight of their perfumes, allowing us to test them all and finally figure out our new signature scent.
At first glance, this just looks like a neutral eyeshadow palette—but it’s so much more than that. This palette has two textures of each of its 10 shades—a powder and a pomade—meant to be used all over the face. Eyes, lips, cheeks, brows—they all can be done with this palette. It is unlike anything else on the market, and after hearing about it on our favorite beauty podcast, we have been dying to get our hands on it.
Of course, we are going to take the opportunity of a major sale to get the pricey device we have been lusting over for months! We have heard amazing things about this LED lip mask that allegedly offers results that rival lip filler for fuller, plumper lips. The red light works to boost circulation and enhance natural lip color, and the wavelengths support natural collagen production. In other words, we want it.
We tried another shade of this lip jelly gloss earlier this year and fell in love with the formula. It is super moisturizing and long-lasting, without being sticky. We also have super sensitive skin, and all of Tower 28’s products, including this one, are formulated to be non-irritating, so their products are almost an instant get for me. We don’t currently have a clear gloss in our arsenal other than Fenty Beauty by Rihanna Gloss Bomb Heat Universal Lip Luminizer + Plumper, so we will be purchasing this time around—but at this price, we may add one or two others as well.
Always looking for something that ensures our makeup looks like we just put it on (even if it has been on for 12+ hours.) As soon, as we heard that this primer was supposed to stop oil and sweat in its tracks, it went straight on our Wishlist. As someone who tends to get oily throughout the day, we are hoping this product will be a temporary cure for a glistening T-zone. There is no better time to snag something new to try than during a sale, so we are excited to finally put this product to the test, especially with the holidays right around the corner.
After trialing and feeling meh about every single primer we have ever tried over the last 15 years, we will be using this season’s Sephora sale to give this Hourglass one a try. The TikTok girlies swear that it gives them a perfectly smooth and silky base for makeup, and they’ve never let us down.
The Ethereal Eyes eyeshadow palette went viral last year and sold out before we could repurchase it. You better believe it is at the top of our Wishlist this year. The cooler-toned neutrals are perfect for the fall and winter, and the shimmers will be wonderful for holiday events.
The blush is that magical touch of color on our cheeks that can become the key to spectacularly defining your cheekbones. And now that we enter autumn it is super important if you want to continue having that summerglow. Here we will tell you about the new technique to apply the blush that will help you define your cheekbones in a super easy way.

1, 2, 3: the steps to apply blush with the easiest technique
Skin preparation
Before applying the blush, it is essential to prepare the skin properly. It starts with clean, well-hydrated skin. Apply your foundation and translucent powder to create an even surface.
Find your cheekbones
The next step is to locate your cheekbones. Use your index and middle fingers to feel the top of your cheeks and find the bone that rises below them. It is the area you want to focus on.
Find the perfect blush shade
Selecting the blush shade that best suits your skin tone is essential. For a natural look, choose a color that resembles the natural blush on your cheeks when you blush. Pink and peach shades are popular as they look good on most skin tones.

Apply the technique
Follow the steps of the technique to apply @mandylikesblush: First heat the product in the palm of your hand, heating the product will make it easier to diffuse. Then, start the application just below the cheekbone and gently slide up and towards the temples in an upward and diagonal motion. This will help define the cheekbones naturally.
The Soft Pinch Liquid Blush from Rare Beauty is super easy to use but be careful because it has a lot of pigmentation, so little does go a long way, and it’s easier to build if desired.
If you want a slightly more natural look, Les Beiges de Chanel is the right choice as it has a moisturizing and ultralight formula, composed of 75% water.
