Nikki Kovacs of My Sweet Belly is all about whole foods and healthy living, and her apple nachos recipe is the perfect gateway snack to clean eating. With just one apple, some seed butter, a sprinkle of chocolate chips, and a drizzle of honey, you’re on your way to a yummy and filling afternoon.

A couple of tips: For those watching their glucose levels, opt for agave instead of honey. If you’re eating a raw diet, swap out the chocolate chips for cacao nibs.

Apple Nachos 

RECIPE TYPE: Snack DIETARY INFO: Gluten-free, Vegan, Nut-free SERVING SIZE: 1 Serving PREP TIME: 5-10 Minutes COOK TIME: 0 Minutes 

INGREDIENTS: 

1 large Honeycrisp apple  
1 tablespoon sunflower seed butter 
3 tablespoons mini vegan chocolate chips or cacao nibs 
1 tablespoon date syrup or honey 

INSTRUCTIONS: 

1. Wash and dry the apple and cut into slices. 
2. Arrange apple slices on a board or plate. Drizzle slices with sunflower seed butter and honey. 
3. Sprinkle apple nachos with chocolate chips or cacao nibs. Enjoy!
